Tough times never last, but tough people do.
It reminds us that hard times come and go. Even if the current situation looks bleak, it can be very different in a few years. Then it is quoted that strong people will persevere. This means that there are enough people who can survive tough times to cope with anything.
The two parts of this prayer remind us that although difficulties are short-lived, people are long-lasting. To be durable I mean that strong people can bear it, you can bear it, no matter what you have to face.
