Follow these 7 steps to learn how to build a business profile for Facebook:

Register for a business page on Facebook

Business pages for Facebook are generated using a personal Facebook account, so you must log into your Facebook account first. Find and click on the “Create” button on the right side of the blue toolbar.

Select from the Menu “Page”
After you click “Create,” a download list will appear. Select the first choice, “Page,” to create your Facebook Business Page.

Choose a Category Page
Two types of pages are available – one “Company or Brand” or another “Community or Public Figure.” Most companies for profit will like to select Businesses or Brands.

Enter your information about your company

Tell Facebook what your business page’s name would like to be. It should be the same as your real name. Then pick a category that best describes what your company offers. For example, a clothing brand can enter “Clothing,” which then adds a list of related options to your choice.

Upload your picture & cover photo profile

Next, choose a photo to upload as an image of your company profile page. Companies usually use their logo as a profile picture, but you can use any photograph that reflects your company and the brand. Make sure your picture is transparent and not cropped.

If you don’t have a picture you would like to use already, or you need a new one, Bluehost should be verified. You can find freelance experts who can design a professional profile at an affordable price, whether it’s a logo or an image.

Then try uploading a picture cover. A cover photo is a background picture, similar to your personal Facebook account, which appears in your facebook business page. You want your picture cover to be visually attractive and representative of your business. Your cover picture should have a width of at least 400 pixels per 150 pixels. You can view our Facebook templates list for your small company.

If you find a cover picture difficult, you can make one using Canva for free. It contains several Facebook cover models that you can easily adjust with no expertise or experience in graphic design. See our guide on how to build a Facebook business page for more details.

Call friends to like your page

Facebook will urge you to invite your current Facebook friends to like your new business page from your personal account. Existing Facebook friends will provide a strong initial basis for a new Facebook business page, therefore it is recommended to proceed. Either press the “Pop-up” prompt, or invite friends from your business page “…” button as shown below.

Include more business details

Find and select “About” in the left-hand menu. This is where you can enter information which tells readers about your company from ways you can contact your products or menu. Enter all relevant information, such as your website, hours and contact details.

In view of Facebook domain authority, it is not unusual for a business’ Facebook page to rank higher in organic search than their website. Given this, it is important to complete all details, as this will be the first point of reference for your company to the potential customer.

Add to your page a button

You may want to add a button to your profile, which will appear at the top right of your business page below your cover photo if you have all your important details entered into your Facebook business page. This is the call-to-action (CTA) on your Facebook profile and is free to use. Including an individual appropriate for your company will help to generate more leads and boost revenue in return. To do this, on the left of your page, click the “+ Add a Button” option below your cover picture.

The following types of buttons can be selected: book with you, contact you, learn more, shop or download. Select the type of button that suits your company best. For instance, a hair salon will prefer to use the book option for you, while a brand selling product would think that the shop option fits better.

The creation of a Facebook Business Page is just the first phase in your business using Facebook marketing. You will have to be involved on Facebook to advertise your page and increase your audience.
